Plastering FAQs

• How long after plaster is applied before we can decorate?
  Leave it about a week before you paint or paper to ensure it sticks and plaster doesn’t fall off.


• Can I paint directly onto new plastered walls and ceilings?
  Ideally, seal the surface with a good plaster sealer. Ask you plasterer for recommended brands or ask in you DIY store.


• How long will it take you to plaster a room?
  Of course this all depends on the size of the room in question, the average room should take  two to three days based on average working day.


• Will I have to remove the carpets?
  No. A good plasterer will ensure your carpets and valuables are fully covered with dust sheets before work commences. However clearing the room of valuable, bulky items will help the plasterer to move around the room more easily.
